The first week of chemo ends today. Though Ranjan looks OK and feels OK and eats OK and laughs OK, the works OK, and reads OK, the nth descendant of mustard gas has begun its terrible attack on his body. A perusal of the history of chemotherapy is scary reading.
Ranjan's first blood test results were terrifying. In one tiny week, and we have 26 weeks to go, his WBC have tumbled from 9000 to 4000 leaving him open to all infections and viruses. And this is only the beginning.
The modus operandi is suspect. Kill all cells that divide , the good, the bad, the ugly and hope for the best.
The adversary is lethal. How do I counter it. Am at a loss! Must regroup my troupes.
